Aaron Wilson-Ahlstrom
Head of Facilitated Learning Programs
he/him
As the son of a teacher and an architect, Aaron has been thinking about how to design and structure learning environments almost since childhood. What began as college summers at an arts and sciences program for high school students became a decade as a high school teacher and another ten years in workplace learning. This career has given Aaron a deep appreciation for the power of collaborative learning experiences.
In particular, Aaron loves the transformative power of learning human-centered design and how it helps people, from kindergartners to corporate leaders to government employees, build a sense of agency to tackle tough challenges. He brings that passion and experience to leading the facilitated programs of Civilla Practica, our suite of learning offerings for leaders of public-serving institutions.
Aaron graduated from the University of Michigan with both a self-designed undergraduate degree looking at the role of education in social change and a Master’s in Education with a teaching certification. He is also the proud father of three kids and finds fatherhood both deeply humbling and inspiring.
