Andre Francisco

As Director of Communications at Civilla, Andre leads the strategy and execution of internal and external communications for the organization. He supports teams in telling their stories and creating strategies that elevate Civilla’s work and its impact on public-serving institutions. 

Andre’s career with words began at an after-school meeting of the high school newspaper club. He’s taken that love of storytelling and writing to a career in and around government at organizations that help agencies improve how they work and how they serve the public.

Andre has worked at The Project on Government Oversight, an investigative non-profit focused on the federal government, 18F, a civic tech office within the federal government, and Ad Hoc, one of the leading civic tech vendors building digital services across federal and state governments. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Northwestern University. 

Outside of work, Andre spends his time dreaming up what to grow in his garden and what grilling or cooking project to take on next.
