Owen Robison

Owen Robison is a Researcher/Designer at Civilla, blending technical curiosity with a deep care for people and their experiences. He began his studies at the University of Michigan as a Computer Science major before discovering user experience design—a moment that changed the trajectory of his career. That curiosity to understand people and problems more deeply has guided his work ever since.

Owen went on to earn his master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Information, where his thesis focused on supporting student mental health through design. Before joining Civilla, he became the first UX hire at Humantech, an industrial and office ergonomics consulting company, where he helped reimagine tools and systems to make work safer and more intuitive.

At his core, Owen values curiosity and wants to understand people’s needs, create thoughtful solutions, and continuously refine them to make life a little easier. Outside of work, you can often find him behind a sewing machine; one of his proudest creations is the suit he made for his brother’s wedding.
