Zach Bosey

Zach Bosey is the Senior Marketing and Events Specialist at Civilla, where he helps shape how the organization tells its story and connects with the people and partners who make its work possible. He's driven by building creative work that serves people, not just work that grabs attention.

Zach’s interest in people and community began to take shape during his time at Michigan State University, where he studied Social Work and Spanish. His early career in farming, food education, and teaching English in Spain further grounded him in community-centered values. He moved to Detroit to join Rocket Community Fund, then co-founded The Fold Creative Agency during the pandemic, leading operations and marketing for political movements, small businesses, and environmental justice groups. 

Most recently, at CHN Housing Partners, he worked to simplify how Detroiters access housing services, partnering with the City of Detroit and dozens of housing organizations to build one front door for homeowner and homebuyer services. That work introduced him to human-centered design, and he became fascinated with making services simpler for the people who rely on them.

Zach is energized by curiosity: trying on different perspectives and digging for stories that aren't visible at first glance. Outside of Civilla, Zach finds meaning in nature and movement. He's backpacked hundreds of miles, work that's taught him how he responds to discomfort and silence. He ran a community garden for two seasons and once came close to becoming a full-time farmer.
